Nikka Kanani N.D.

Dr Kanani received her Doctorate from Bastyr University in San Diego. Before that, she attended the University of California, Irvine where she received my Bachelor's degree in Public Health Science and completed her pre-medical coursework. Dr Kanani knew that she wanted to become a doctor since she was a child, because she wanted to combine her passion for serving others with her interest in health and science. Throughout her childhood and adolescent years, she struggled with conditions like eczema, acne, migraines, and terrible allergies that were not being treated effectively. She started to become exposed to natural and integrative medicine as she grew older, and saw the profound effect it had on her own health, and the health of her friends and family. Shortly after, she discovered Naturopathic medicine and realized that it was the perfect fit for her. It unites her respect for conventional western medicine and her appreciation of natural medicine.

As a licensed Naturopathic doctor, Dr Kanani focuses on integrative, preventative, and personalized medicine. She try to support the body's own ability to heal itself using modalities like botanical medicine, vitamins and nutrients, dietary modifications, and lifestyle interventions before turning to pharmaceuticals. Her main areas of focus are women's health and skin conditions. She is also am very interested in the prevention and management of chronic disease, and anti-aging and longevity. Most of her clinical rotations during school were focused on digestive health, autoimmune disease, women's health, and dermatology and aesthetics. She also treat patients with a number of different health concerns such as fatigue, digestive disorders, thyroid abnormalities, anxiety and depression, stress management, autoimmune disease, headaches, and many more.

Naturopathic doctors are trained in many different modalities, and can incorporate different therapies into our treatments based on each individual patients’ needs. Dr Kanani tends to use botanical medicine, nutraceuticals, diet and lifestyle modifications, as well as different cutting edge functional lab tests to identify and treat the root cause of her patient's ailments. She also performs PRP facials and hair restoration injections.

Through her own healthy journey, and time in school, she learned that this medicine really works. She truly believes in the integrative health care model, and enjoys providing her patients with adjunctive care while working with a team of other providers.
